CBT helps you look at the way you think and act, and understand how these affect your health and happiness. We teach new ways of coping with problems such as depression, anxiety, or OCD.
Book AssessmentSometimes simply talking openly and freely about your problems in a friendly, understanding and confidential environment can work wonders. Counselling can help you understand why you feel the way you do, and develop your own unique path to positive change.
DRCS can also offer Integrative counselling which draws on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. An integrative counsellor believes there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Instead, they take into account you as an individual and your circumstances, and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) can help if you have symptoms of trauma from any past experience across your lifetime. Examples include childhood abuse or neglect, physical or sexual assault, surgical trauma, road traffic accidents and workplace accidents. It is designed to help you process and integrate experiences, enabling relief from the associated emotional and psychological burden. EMDR is a powerful approach which may also help with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, addiction, pain, behavioural difficulties, relationship issues and personality disorders.

Your first appointment is an opportunity to meet your therapist and for them to get to know you. An opportunity to begin to discuss your difficulties and agree the best way forward that is meaningful to you. You can ask anything — they won't judge or criticise.
If you are attending face to face, you will be greeted in reception by a friendly face who will take you to the waiting area and will offer you a cuppa.
