Derwent Rural Counselling Service (DRCS) is raising money to renovate a new office space in the centre of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Over the last 25 years, DRCS has strived towards improving the mental health of all those that have accessed the service offering Counselling, CBT, self-help, or another form of talking therapy. Over the last 8 years, DRCS has been in partnership with Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to improve access to psychological therapies throughout Derbyshire.

One main aim for DRCS has been to create a local service for everyone in Derbyshire, going from only having one main office in Bakewell to seven treatment centres across the county so far. We have also worked in GP surgeries, community centres, churches to make sure everybody can get the service they need, close to home.

DRCS have recently purchased the old registry office in Chesterfield (pictured below), to provide as many treatment appointments as possible for those in the local community. This poses as the biggest property challenge to date with 3 floors to renovate as soon as possible to ensure no delay to anyone’s treatment is caused.

Should you be able to donate any amount to DRCS, you will be helping a local resident get the support they deserve and providing them with a nice environment to access this.

We will keep you all updated as the renovation moves forward, to show you how your contributions have helped or if you just have a general interest in your local community.

Not only would any money donations be appreciated, but if anyone has any furniture, room decorations, bathroom/kitchen suites that are in very good condition, we would be grateful for any of these items being donated. Please contact us directly on admin@drcs.org.uk.
