Derwent Rural Counselling Service (DRCS) invitation to become a trustee

Join us and make a difference! Do you care about the mental health of your loved ones and the world in general? Become a trustee of one of Derbyshire’s leading mental health charities!

As you may be aware, the charity/not-for-profit sector contributes a vital contribution to the quality of life in the UK socially and economically, and DRCS has been making a positive difference to the mental health of the people of Derbyshire for over thirty-five years. In the current era the need for support with mental health has never been higher as communities adjust to the new social and emotional landscape of a post Covid pandemic world, combined with the challenges triggered by accelerating technological change. Inevitably, this imposes strain as well as opportunity with repercussions being felt across all dimensions of life, personal as well as professional.

As a charitable organisation, DRCS is experiencing change too, as we reconfigure our services to respond to the changing pattern of need and provision of talking mental health support in Derbyshire. We have spaces on our board of trustees, which is an opportunity to:

  • join an organisation with a track record of proven excellence in enhancing and supporting the mental health of communities within Derbyshire – a potentially impressive addition to an evolving curriculum vitae!
  • Experience the rewards of making an altruistic contribution via the role of being a trustee
  • Apply and hone professional skills/expertise as well as experiencing personal growth through working with the challenge of organisational and market-place change
  • Work with a team of other individuals who are passionate about making a difference
